Hawaiian Cooking Recipes

There are many Hawaiian dishes that are quite easy to prepare these days, and a variety of these dishes are perfect for family dinners and backyard parties with neighbors and close friends. Since Hawaiian cooking entails many different types of methods from all parts of the world, their dishes are quite easy to translate or simplify in any regular home kitchen.

There are many Hawaiian cook books that can be purchased easily from any common book store. In such cook books you can find a lot of simple dishes, stews, and grilled meats and seafood, instructions how to prepare them, and occasionally replacement ingredients for food items that cannot be easily purchased in other parts of the world. If possible, look for the cook book entitled “Hawaiian Country Tables”, which includes a nice background story on Hawaii’s past aside from just Hawaiian cooking recipes. Also try “A Little Hawaiian Cookbook” which includes Hawaiian staple favorites like coconut baked fish, grilled shrimp and pineapple, and banana poi.

There are also a lot of Hawaiian cooking recipes and instructions available on the Internet in most food web sites. You can take that route while on your computer or search for recipes posted by locals themselves in their blogs. Look for recipes for Hawaiian pulled pork, which is a form of barbecue that utilizes shoulder cuts, and Laulau, which is a traditional pork dish wrapped in taro leaf.
